The Communication Arts Dept at VCU (where I went to school) included one of my pieces in a collage of student, faculty, and guest speakers’ work. There are some real heavyweights here, and it’s quite something for me to see my work amongst them. Ironically, this piece was one that I did before attending VCU. I was working in more of a Pop-Surrealism style at the time and promoting myself heavily that way on my website, with this piece serving as a kind of logo or splash page. (You can see more examples of my Pop-Surrealism work here.) It was also a style that most of my professors strongly discouraged me from pursuing, making it doubly ironic that they would promote it on their website.
